Seventh and Eight Grade Summer Science Assignment
This year our science fair will once again be held in December. All 7th and 8th Grade students are required to participate. Students entering 7th and 8th Grade will need to complete the following assignment over the summer and turn it in during their first science class of the year:
The assignment is to come up with 5 topics of interest for a science fair project. This should be an original idea and not something from the internet. Topics could include geology, plant life, ecology, making crystals, physics such as airplanes, motion or chemistry. They should think “outside the box.” Students are encouraged to jot down ideas throughout the summer on anything that might catch their attention. They do not need to come up with a hypothesis, only a topic.
Specifically: Students need to write down 5 topics of interest for a potential science fair project. Each topic will need to be accompanied by 1 or 2 sentences stating what interests them in the topic or what they might like to test.
General Guidance:
Students may contact Mr. Richey during the summer if they have questions on the assignment. Email: srichey@resurrectioncatholic.com
