Fr. Bart Gadaj was born on April 04, 1982 and raised in Poland, where he grew up and received his education. He comes from a family of 3; one sister and one brother. After graduating from high school Fr. Bart entered the Religious community of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) in 2001. After graduating from the seminary and receiving a Master of Divinity, he was ordained on May 31, 2008. Before he came to the United States in 2014, he served for 6 years in various parishes in Poland. His first assignment was Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Gdynia, followed by Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Krakow. His last assignment, in 2012, before coming to Jacksonville was at St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Parish in Warsaw. In each parish Fr. Bart worked as a vicar and teacher of religion in public schools. Father Bart was granted permission to leave the Order and pursue diocesan priesthood and was welcomed by Bishop Estévez into our diocese. During his time of probation in the diocese, Fr. Bart had the privilege to serve at several parishes as a parochial vicar and chaplain. He was assigned to St. Joseph Parish, San Juan del Rio Parish, The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine Parish, St. Paul Parish in Jacksonville Beach and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Palm Coast. Last year he joined the Army and became a chaplain in the Army Reserve. Fr. Bart is currently assigned here at Resurrection as pastor. We are delighted to have Fr. Bart in our parish, and we welcome him wholeheartedly to our faith community!
